2 Weeks to go!

Hi there bloggers,

I'm just sitting at work on my lunch break, thought I'd give an update on what's been happening.

We had a carboot at the weekend, managed to shift loads of unwanted bits and bobs and made a tidy profit so can't complain, though it was an early start, especially for a Sunday!

We've still got the Mini Cooper for sale.... anyone? Please! What about a Honda Scooter?

The bungalow is starting to look a bit bare now, we've sold the sofa's but the girl can't collect for a week or so which is awesome! I'd have a sore arse from sitting on the floor otherwise!

Claire had her last shift at Suffolk Doctors last night, as of 11pm she is an official lady of leisure! I've got a further 3.5 shifts to go over the next week or so. Roll on the 21st August!

Yo s'up peeps

Well I'm sitting here next to my lovely hubster and thought we'd write a blog to tell you whats been happening of recent. WE'VE DONE IT !!!! WE'VE EMPTIED THE LOFT FINALLY !!!!!!! It's all piled in the la'al room at the moment, waiting to be sorted. We've been looking into booking a hotel in Sydney for 3 nights, for when we land. Just so we can get our bearings and see what we want to do next. Going to use some of the wedding money we've been given .... so thanks for that folks !!

The tent was a great success as Ben pointed out. Can't wait to get out in it again.

Bens just ordered some clothes to take away with him, there was nowt for me unfortunately !! I'll be using my last week at work to do some Ebay shopping. Oh yeah, I agreed to stay on at work an extra week...... BOOOOOOOOO.

We've been working as per. Ben was working a full 24 hours from saturday morning til sunday morning, it was wierd us both getting up for 5am. We're having pizza to celebrate and maybe pop into The Bell for a swift pint on the way home from this ????? (Ben here.... "YES!")

Well nowt else to say cos we've got a pub to get to now !! .......

New Tent + Rain = We stayed dry !!

Hello Bloggers,

it's Ben here. We've just got back from our weekend of camping in the Lake District with the Blackwell crew. Good news, it rained and the inside of the tent stayed dry! Wahooo!
I know you should really expect this from any tent but for some reason, we just wanted to make sure..... before carting it halfway around the planet!

Had a fantastic time up t' north. It's probably the last time for a while. We said our goodbye's to those not coming stateside with us.

It's weird to think that the next time we see Claire's Mam and Dad we'll be in Florida! I can't wait for the moment we all meet up together at the Airport. We're both getting really excited now!

The camping was excellent, really nice having all the kids there, had a BBQ (obviously!), camp fires, a few (too many) drinks, paddled down by Pooley Bridge. Didn't want to come home, back to work now, boo!

It's now time to sort out our stuff. We desperately need to get up in the loft and start sorting, we've been successfully putting it off for weeks, think it's about time we made a start!

Anyone want a red and white Mini Cooper? What about some sofas?

Any way, I'd better get back to doing some work.

One step closer !!!

Well, I've joined my hubby in handing in my notice. I now finish on the 17th July, sooner than I wanted so I just hope that I'll have enough money saved up. We're both so tired now and are just wanting it to be happening soon ! We've booked a camping trip with the Blackwell's. It'll be a 2 night stay in Ullswater, give us chance to try the tent out. We're both really looking forward to it.

We're not done much since our last Blog really, we keep putting off sorting out the loft. We're now doing it when we get back from Camping (we'll see!). We've got Mam and Dad Blackwell coming down to stay at the weekend which is cool. We've put the Gazebo up cos I know Geoffrey Boy will no doubt want to BBQ .... or 2 !!

Lisa and Stu got back from New York loving it, which is great news !!! So the wedding is going ahead there next year, still not sure of a date yet but we don't need to know the date until next year anyway really ... no rush for us. Just wierd that when we say goodbye the next time we'll see them will be in New York !

No other news to report really, bens finished his teaching awards ... no more of them for him which he's pleased about. We need to start looking into our Internet Banking and sorting out a Credit Card for the "just incase moments!".

Really getting excited about Disneyland now, can't believe I'm gonna see Chip N Dale ! And piglet ......... yippee !! It'll be a good send off on our travels, can't wait !

Well better go and look like I'm actually doing some work. Speak soon Bloggers !

Welcome to Blogsville

Hello all,

the more observant of you may have noticed, that up until this point my lovely wife has been the only contributor to our blog.... well not any more.... HELLO BLOG WORLD!

This is my first ever Blog (how exciting!). I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to say, or what you're expecting to hear. I'm certain that once we've set foot in Australia I'll be waffling on for ages, boring you with stories of adventure and excitement from the land down under, but at this current point in time...... I'm sitting at work!

Our plans are (so far) going well. As Claire mentioned I have handed in my notice at work. I was dreading it, but actually, it was fine. Everyone at work seems really happy for us and is wishing us well. I did point out that there's still three months 'til we leave so save the "good luck's" for now. It feels great now that we can talk about it openly, a weight has definitely been lifted off my shoulders!

Well, that's it from me for now. I just wanted to pop my blogging cherry and say hello.

Looking forward to writing something interesting for you next time! (though no promises!)

Well Ben's took the plunge and handed in his notice today !! One down and me to go, although I don't have to do mine til the end of June. He said it went well, I thought it would as he's not leaving to go to another job ..... he's just leaving the country for a year ! Blimey, sounds strange. I just want to be able to tell everyone and not have to worry about it but it's still a long way off ...... 102 sleeps ...... and counting. He's leaving date is 21st August, think I'll finish the week before but work more hours at the Call Centre for the last week.

We bought our home for 8 months !!!! It's the tent we've been looking at on the internet and it's a mansion compared to our other ones. It's great perfect for what we want. There's room for everything, can't wait to try it out. We bought it in a camping shop in Keswick, got some spare poles scopped in too which was good. We put it up in the garden as soon as we got back and we're so happy with it. Woo hoo !!!!!!

We've just paid for our travel insurance so thats another thing crossed off. Next thing is to pay for the Disneyworld tickets so thats next pay day. Been working loads and getting paid loads, not working many evenings now cos by the time they take off the tax I've nowt left. Only working weekends which means I don't get much time chilling with my hubby .... it'll all be worth it though.

Think Bens sold his scooter too which is good news, advertised it and someone rang pretty much straight away. He's zipping about on his Vespa, he wasn't that happy on our wedding day ! Hopefully get my scooter mot'd next month and then I can sell it july time. It'll be sad to see it go but I need the money, hopefully get another when we get back.

Well that's it for now, times just standing still, hopefully next blog I'll have won the £100,000.00 off GMTV. I've entered every member of my family in it 3 times so I'd better bloody win. Just hope the family is honest and lets me know !! Just a couple of £1000 would do .... we'll see !

Mr & Mrs Hines, it's official!

Well heres some photos of our "Big Day!". Still hasn't sunk in yet, nothings different. 17 ish weeks till we can start our Honeymoon. I'm so tired with all the working but I've got to get more money saved. I'm panicking abit about how much I will have and will it be enough. Just got to think I'll have 12 months or so off so it's all worth it ! Feeling a bit stressed at the mo but I think it's with working all the time. Although just had the weekend off and we spent it with Nellie, can't wait to get back so we can get our own dog .... yay ! Not that I'm wishing our travels away that is ! Well better go cos I'm just waffling now. Yippee it's getting closer !
