At 8.20pm we were in the car and heading to Perth Airport. We said our last goodbyes to Emma and Digger, we did quite well to hold back the tears..... I’m sure our paths will cross again.
We could luckily check in straight away and get rid of our bags. We headed straight through to departures only to find our flight was 30 minutes late. It seemed no time at all and we were on the Jetstar plane and heading to Sydney. 4 ½ hours later, we were there.
We had to put our clocks 3 hours forwards and were already feeling tired. Not really much sleep was had with the chairs being so uncomfortable. We had a long wait in Sydney Airport ...... 12 hours!! Boy it dragged.
We could eventually check in at 3.30pm. It was great to have no bags to carry around. We again passed through departures and had a look around the Duty Free shops, making sure we had a spritz on the way..... as you do!! Then we had an expensive pint in the pub and walked down to the gate.
At 5.45pm we boarded our Qantas flight to Auckland.... yee har!! Only 2 ½ hours AND we got food and a drink.... amazing!! Just enough time to watch a film and have a wee and we were descending to New Zealand.
