Devonport and hugging walls !!

When we awoke the next morning we didn’t have a clue what time it was. We all walked down to a cafe around the corner from the hotel for breakfast. Bagels and cream cheese and a smoothie ... set us up for the day. After breakfast we walked down a booked a hire car for the next few days, we pick it up tomorrow.

We took a ferry across from Auckland Harbour to Devonport, just for a wander around the streets. We then took a HIKE! Up to the summit of Mt Victoria, where we got stunning views of the Auckland Skyline. After taking in the views and recovering from the climb we walked back down to the ferry terminal and returned to the city.

The Sky Tower loomed over us and we decided to have a coffee at the top. We took the glass elevator to the top and were met with a bird’s eye view of the city. Mum hugged the inner wall while the 3 of us took photos and watched the jumpers as they flew by the window. They jump from just above the Observation Deck and then hang them in front for photos, and then they drop them to the bottom! We got a coffee and Mum started to relax a bit.

Later we went back to the hotel for an hour to relax and freshen up for Tea. At 8.00pm we went out for Tea at an Indian Restaurant, wow! One of the best meals we’ve had in ages. We all really enjoyed it. Well that was it for day 2, an excellent day and we’re all excited about our road trip starting tomorrow.
