Fergburgers and Gondolas .....

After the awesome sunrise yesterday morning, me and Ben got up early and drove down to Lake Te Anau. Armed with a brew each, camera, tripod, gloves and hat we drove the 5 minutes to the town. We parked the car and walked down by the water’s edge onto the jetty. Not much of a sunrise this morning but it was nice watching the sky change over the mountains. I even caught a trout whilst waiting for Ben to take his photo’s!!

After having some breakfast and loading up the car we’re now heading back to the lovely Queenstown.

We arrived at Queenstown and booked into the Motel we’d stayed at previously, we just had a different room. We left our bags and headed out to the town. It was really busy with people, by far the busiest town so far.

We were quite hungry so Ben and Dad called in for the famous ‘Fergburger’, it was HUGE and definitely filled a hole.

After eating we walked up the hill to catch the Sky Gondola. A cable car that takes you up to see an overall birdseye view of Queenstown. It’s quite big and spread out and is surrounded by mountains. At the top there’s a lookout where you can watch people bungy jump over the small city. There’s a luge that you can take down part of the mountain.

We headed back down the Sky Gondola and did a bit of shopping before heading for something to take back for tea. We picked a DVD for the night, the cheery ‘Boy with the striped pyjama’s’ before having an early night.
