Saying goodbye to the Sunny !

We woke this morning to the sun shining and fluffy clouds. We had a nice breakfast and got showered before loading up the Sunny and heading off.

Back on Highway 1 and going south. We pulled over after about an hour and a half of driving to take some photos from a scenic lookout and a swap of drivers. Lunch time arrived as we were approaching Foxton, we decided to get a cuppa and a bit of food. Dad took over the remainder of the driving to Wellington.

We decided the Sunny didn’t really cut the mustard so we upgraded for a bigger, more powerful Toyota Camry ...... much better! The Tourist Information Centre found us a Motel and we checked in, managed to get the room upgraded after chatting with the English owner ...... bonus !

Once unpacking our bags we headed out to the supermarket for some tea. We didn’t see much of the city really, we’ll get chance to do it on our way back up. We had our soup for tea and chilled in front of the telly for the evening.

We had an early start, so all had an early night.
